Okay, so I guess it’s better than no flights from San Diego to Loreto. Last month, Mexican government officials met with the Director General of Aero México, Andres Conesa Labastida, to discuss the possibility of returning the flight route from San Diego to Loreto. I was SO excited!!! oh wait, did I just read there is a stop in Mexico City??? Yes, I did. My favorite flight, San Diego to Loreto, that takes about an hour and twenty five minutes or just enough time to order and drink a Tecate before the Kamikaze Mexican airline pilots start to make the decent has turned into an eight hour flight. OMG. What's the point? I understand that this gives the lovely residents of Loreto a direct flight to Mexico City without going to La Paz first, but from my understanding, this resurrected flight to Loreto is supposed to give a hand to the declining tourism market of Baja California Sur. I could drive to L.A., park at my mom's house and take an hour and a half flight from LAX and be there quicker. Atencion Señor Conesa Labastida, por favor, puedo encontrar contigo? (translation: Attention, Mr. Labastida, Can I have a meeting with you to explain how freakin’ long I have been waiting for the best flight on the planet to come back to San Diego and now you want to fly to 6 hours out of the way to get there?) No comprendo...
